Operational Assistant (VET and Qualifications Department) (Interim agent – 1 year contract)

Adecco, on behalf of Cedefop, the European Center for the Development of Vocational Training, one of the EU’s decentralized agencies, based in Thessaloniki Greece, is seeking to recruit a highly driven candidate for the following position: 

Operational Assistant (VET and Qualifications Department) 
(Interim agent – 1 year contract)

Cedefop is looking to secure the support of an interim agent for 12 months; a researcher or practitioner  with a good background in vocational education and training (VET) policies and systems in EU countries.
The Job:
The operational assistant will be involved in the everyday work of the Agency in the VET policies and systems team in the Department for VET and Qualifications, under the supervision of the Head of Department.
As a member of the respective project team, the operational assistant will contribute to Cedefop’s research, analysis and reporting on VET policies and systems.
Under the guidance of an expert s/he will be working on specific tasks that include support in:

•    Monitoring developments in VET policies in EU Member states, Norway and Iceland, with a particular focus on the priority areas and objectives of the Council Recommendation on VET and the Osnabruck Declaration and in line with countries’  national implementation plans (NIPs);
•    Drafting country-specific reports and articles to be made available on Cedefop’s website and shared with the European Commission, and other stakeholders;
•    Code and analyse VET policies in the countries by using NVIVO, a qualitative analysis tool.

Candidate’s Profile:
•    Completed University studies (1) of at least three years attested by a diploma;
•    At least 3 years (full-time equivalent) of professional research and hands-on experience in VET-related environments (such as in vocational and university colleges, private companies, public institutions working in VET, international organisations related to VET and voluntary organisations with a VET-oriented operation);
•    Good knowledge and understanding of VET and lifelong learning as well as related employment and social policies in the European Union;
•    Strong analytical skills and ability to draft reports, synthesizing large amount of information in VET and lifelong learning from several sources;
•    Flexibility and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team; 
•    Very good oral and written communication skills in English (C1 or above as referenced in the Common European Framework of Reference (2))
