Cash Application Specialist
The main responsibility of Cash Application Specialist is cash allocation when customers remit payments to the company. This is a vital role to ensure a clear structure & processes of cash application into our Accounts Receivables.
Job Description
•Allocate accurate payment to Accounts Receivable (AR).
•Be the first contact to customers to request remittance advice and payment information.
•Be detailed oriented with specifics on customer remittance advice; paying particular attention with-holding tax, bank fees and FOREX.
•Fixing errors, i.e. wrong allocation or wrong FOREX/Bank fees applied, when needed. Reporting errors to the Cash Application Lead.
•Clearing unapplied payments & unknown/unidentified payments in a timely manner in line with Key Performance Indicators
•Work together with Collections/Billing team on reconciliation of customer AR.
•Prepare daily & weekly reporting to ensure updated Cash Book/Sheet & Collections Forecast within pre-set timescales.
•Provide information to internal and external customers regarding customer remitted payment matters.
•Ensure all customers supporting documentation is in place with customer reference number or customer confirmation.
•Work with the accounting team to ensure all collections are captured correctly. Otherwise, need to work with the accounting team to rectify the collections/cash inflow portion. Also, provide proof of remittance for audit purposes when required.
•Initiate process improvements in the Cash Application function.
•Cross-training/buddy with other members of the team to ensure that all work is covered during absences.  
Candidate Profile
•At least 2-3 years of similar experience.
•Must have experience managing the financial affairs of a group of companies.
•Must have experience managing a team of Accountants/Finance Managers.
•Experience with Shared Service Centers is an advantage.
•Experience with ERP systems is essential (Microsoft NAV preferred).
•Proficient in using Microsoft Excel.
•Able to perform financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
•A person who is independent, and hands-on, with good organizing and problem-solving skills.
•Technically sound in Accounting and Accounting systems/processes.
•Strong Analytical ability.
•Good leadership qualities, result-oriented, and with a can-do attitude.
•Good communication and interpersonal skills.
•Initiative, able to work independently with strong coordination and problem-solving skills.
•Must be organized and detail-oriented.
•Good people management skills.
