Senior Electrical Design Engineer
Job Description
• Design, development, engineering, procurement support of Electrical systems
• Preparation of all documents and drawings such as technical descriptions, specifications, datasheets, single line diagrams, wiring diagrams, block diagrams, electrical consumer lists, calculations, location layouts, cable routing layouts, typical installation details, cable schedule, MTO, MR, TBE, system philosophy
• Carryout sizing calculations for Power Systems including Electrical Substation Equipment, Emergency Diesel Generator, Electrical Distribution Boards, Cables, Lighting, Earthing and Lightning Protection
• Design, selection, specification, and datasheet preparation of a large variety of power, lighting, earthing and lightning protection, and low current equipment
• Attend interface meetings with Clients and Vendors to electrical design scopes
• Review Electrical Systems Vendors offers, prepare Vendor Technical Clarifications, and prepare Technical Bid Evaluation reports
Candidate Profile
• Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
• 10+ years of work experience in detailed engineering and design of Electrical works for Oil & Gas projects in similar position
• Hands on experience on multi-disciplinary projects in Concept, FEED and Detail Engineering of Electrical Systems, including Power (Medium Voltage and Low Voltage), Lighting and Small Power, Earthing and Lightning Protection, and Low Current (F&G, Telephone and data, Intrusion Alarm and Security, Loudspeaker etc.) systems of natural gas pipeline/facility projects
• Excellent oral and written English skills able to produce fluent Documents, Reports, and Technical Notes
• Fully familiar with relevant international codes, standards, and recommended practices such as API, ISA, ISO, ANSI/ASME, IEC, IEEE, ITU, TIA/EIA, etc.
• Knowledge of hazardous area classification and the selection of equipment for installation and use in hazardous environments
• In-depth knowledge of engineering and design of Electrical works
• Working knowledge of CAD software required, AutoCAD preferred
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• General knowledge of other related disciplines
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks. Must be self-motivated, results oriented, and be flexible to work well under tight schedules in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary team environment
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
