Adecco, on behalf of Cedefop, the European Center for the Development of Vocational Training, is seeking to recruit: 

Graphic designer/web designer (electronic publishing) 
(Interim agent, 1-year contract)

Cedefop is one of the oldest EU’s decentralised agencies, founded in 1975. It has been based in Thessaloniki since 1995.
Cedefop supports the promotion, development and implementation of the Union policy in the field of vocational education and training (VET) as well as skills and qualifications policies by working together with the Commission, Member States and social partners. To this end, it enhances and disseminates knowledge, provides evidence and services for policymaking, including research-based conclusions, and facilitates knowledge sharing among and between EU and national actors.
The interim will be a member of Cedefop’s Department for Communication and will provide support to the publications and media teams.

The Job: 
You will be part of an exciting transformation process towards innovative electronic publication formats in the area of scientific publishing.
Your main tasks will involve:
  • Support to Cedefop’s publication team in implementing a new e-publication approach;
  • Support in building up up-to-date knowledge on electronic publishing developments in the scientific environment;
  • Support in developing new e-publishing formats and features  for Cedefop electronic publication series;
  • Ensure good integration of electronic publications with Cedefop’s web portal (www.cedefop.europa.eu);
  • Liaise with Cedefop’s media team in the areas of audiovisual production and social media promotion.


Candidate’s Profile:
  • Have a level of post-secondary education attested by a diploma covering the discipline(s): graphic design, web design, electronic publishing, online communications or information systems sciences. 
  • At least 2 years ((2 years full-time equivalent) of recent (within the past 5 years) professional project experience ) in graphic design/web design related to electronic publishing; including the development and production of electronic books, flyers or brochures in pdf, html, e-book or other electronic publishing formats;
  • Recent professional experience in the promotion and dissemination of e-publishing formats; 
  • Excellent knowledge of Desktop publishing applications (such as Adobe InDesign, QuarkXPress, etc.);
  • Good knowledge of HTML;
  • Ability to work independently and to manage tasks according to agreed timescales;
  • Flexibility and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team; 
  • Very good oral and written communication skills in English (C1).

(There is also possibility to work from home in line with Cedefop’s rules. Currently working from home is the Cedefop’s default mode, however, onsite operations are expected to resume shortly and depending on the evolution of the epidemiological situation.)
