Reception Assistant – Site Management (North Greece)

Adecco is currently seeking, on behalf of EASO, an agency of European Union, acting as the centre of expertise of asylum, for dynamic professionals to cover the following position in Katsikas, Koutsochero, Polykastro, Kavala, Diavata, Serres: 

                                 Reception Assistant – Site Management


Job description 

The Reception Assistant - Site management works under the supervision of the Greek authorities (Reception & Identification Service - RIS) in performing some or all of the following tasks: 


•     Supports the local RIS Director in the management of the accommodation facility, working under his/her supervision, and in close coordination with the local Site Management Support actor (IOM, DRC or ASB), when applicable; 
•    Support the RIS management staff in their duties;
•    Submit daily/weekly/monthly reports to RIS HQs;
•    Support the coordination of the stakeholders working in the reception centre;
•    Support the liaison with local and national authorities (Hellenic Police, Greek Asylum Service, public hospitals, etc.) and other relevant stakeholders (NGOs, civil society, etc.); 
•    Inform the competent prosecutor in case of unlawful acts happening in the reception centre;
•    Support on the welcoming of new residents (including the signature of the Site Regulation); 
•    Support on keeping up to date of the registry of residents;
•    Support the implementation of regular verification exercises; 
•    Support the management of a site helpdesk;
•    Support in the establishment of a referral pathways to services and coordinate transportation to/from essential services;
•    Support on the referrals of vulnerable cases to ESTIA accommodation scheme;
•    Support on monitoring the implementation of the age assessment procedure;
•    Act as a focal point for the National Referral Mechanism for victims of Trafficking in Human Beings when appointed as such;
•    Act as a focal point for RIS HQ Helpdesk;
•    Support on notifying residents the invitation for an interview or the decisions on their application for international protection;
•    Support on the issuance of asylum seekers cards;
•    Identify needs for staff development and organize capacity building workshops, trainings, seminars in coordination with partners and external actors;
•    Act as a liaison with EASO asylum and reception operations;
•    Participate in coordination and any other relevant meetings in the reception site;
•    Attend regular meetings with EASO at local or central level;
•    Participate in trainings organised by EASO or other stakeholders, locally or in other locations, when requested;
•    Provide to EASO regular analytical and statistical reports of provided services, challenges faced and best practices observed;
•    Draft documents, templates, minutes and reports;
•    Perform any other tasks in the interest of the service, relevant for the specific profile.



Candidates Profile

•    University degree in the related area – preferred and advantageous;
•    Demonstrated previous experience in relevant tasks will be an advantage;
•    Very good understanding of the Greek migration and reception context;
•    Fluency in Greek and in English (oral and written);
•    Excellent intercultural/interdisciplinary communication skills;
•    Excellent organizational and analytical skills;
•    Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
