Adecco is currently seeking, on behalf of EASO, an agency of European Union, acting as the centre of expertise of asylum, for a dynamic professional to cover the following position in Athens: 


Country of Origin Information (COI) Officer  


Job description 

The COI Officer works under the supervision of the Greek authorities (Greek Asylum Service) in performing some or all of the following tasks:

•    Provide direct support to colleagues in the field on queries and matters of Country of Origin Information (COI);
•    Respond to COI Queries according to pre-defined working instructions and EASO COI methodology (conduct COI research, compile COI, draft responses to COI queries);
•    Contribute to the drafting and development of COI products; 
•    Compile and keep up to date COI Links Lists per specific profiles/countries of origin;
•    Maintain excellent understanding of and implement all developments in guidance, quality feedback, SOPs, in particular concerning COI;
•    Deliver trainings and info sessions on COI to different audiences; 
•    Maintain the COI Queries logbook (incoming/outgoing queries) and statistics;
•    Participate in workshops and meetings;
•    Attend regular meetings with EASO;
•    Participate in trainings organised by EASO or other stakeholders, when requested;
•    Provide to EASO regular analytical and statistical reports of provided services and challenges;
•    Draft documents, templates, minutes and reports;
•    Perform any other tasks in the interest of the service, relevant for the specific profile.

Candidates Profile

•    University degree is required, preferably in the field of law, political, humanitarian, social studies;
•    Relevant post-graduate degree will be considered as an asset;
•    Previous experience in social research and/or research on third country conditions (human rights, political, socio-economic situation); 
•    Previous experience in asylum procedures and Country of Origin Information (COI) will be an asset; 
•    Excellent knowledge of English and Greek (oral and written) is required;
•    Computer literate, including MS Office applications (Word, Excel), use of internet and web based applications;
•    Excellent writing skills;
•    Excellent intercultural/interdisciplinary communication skills;
•    Analytical skills and ability to work as a member of team.
