Adecco is currently seeking, on behalf of its client, one of the largest banking institutions in Greece, for a dynamic professional to cover the following position:
Senior Accounting, Financial & Tax Supervisor (Heraklion, Crete Based)
Job Description
• Be responsible for and have the overview of the Accounting Department
• Optimal allocation, prioritize and scheduling of duties and responsibilities within the Department
• Monitoring and controlling of all the tasks’ progress
• Efficient management of accounting – financial - tax matters and employees of the Department
• Reporting for all accounting, financial & tax matters to the Executives of Finance
• Preparing financial statements, regulatory and other reports
• Timely submission of all tax returns and declarations
• Be responsible for external financial and tax audits, as well as the Bank’s internal audits conducted
• Be up to date regarding the accounting (Greek GAAP & IFRS), financial and regulatory reporting framework, on a systematic and continuous basis and make sure the relevant electronic library is also updated and properly maintained
• Create validation tools, published instructions’ guidelines, enchased systems and files, in order to ensure an efficient and safe accounting, financial, tax and regulatory environment
• Play a key role in the design and implementation of new investment initiatives and special projects of the Bank and be able to independently lead and manage multiple of them in parallel
• Coordinating with other areas of Finance and the Bank to ensure completeness of information and efficiency of processes, policies and procedures
Candidate Profile
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Business Administration or Economics
• Master title in relevant disciplines or ACCA, ACA, CFA Professional Certificate would be an asset
• Previous working experience of at least (10) years in the business line of Accounting, Financial, Tax Services
• Working experience (in the above business lines) in Banking, Audit & Assurance or Consulting would be an asset
• Fluency in Greek and English language
• PC literacy (with focus on ERPs and Excel)
• Experience in the use of banking systems would be an asset
• Initiative and problem-solving ability
• Analytical and synthetic thinking
• Organizational ability to perform tasks according to predetermined schedules
• Excellent communication skills
• Positive collaborative approach to sharing ideas and finding solutions – Teamwork spirit
• Adaptability and flexibility
